Reviewer certification
By submitting a review on Legit, you certify that: you are submitting this review based on your own firsthand business experience with the reviewed company; your review reflects your honest opinion; and it does not include confidential information protected by NDA, personal attacks on named individuals, or unverifiable factual claims presented as established fact.
1. About Legit
Legit is a platform that enables vendors, agencies, freelancers, and business partners to submit anonymous reviews of companies they have worked with as clients, buyers, or partners. The Legit Score and all review content are aggregated from reviewer submissions. Legit does not independently investigate, audit, or make editorial determinations about the companies listed on the platform.
These Terms govern your use of the Legit platform and website at legit.works. By using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.
2. Reviewer terms
When you submit a review on Legit, you represent and agree to the following:
Firsthand experience
Your review is based on your own direct experience working with the reviewed company — as a vendor, agency, freelancer, implementation partner, co-sell partner, or other B2B service provider. You have not submitted a review on behalf of someone else or based on secondhand accounts.
Honest opinion
Your review reflects your genuine assessment of the working relationship. You have not been incentivized, paid, or instructed to submit the review by any third party, and you have no undisclosed conflict of interest that would make your review misleading.
No confidential information
Your review does not include specific contract terms, pricing, or other information that is subject to a non-disclosure agreement or that you are otherwise obligated to keep confidential.
No personal attacks or named individuals
Your review does not contain personal attacks on any individual and does not name specific employees, managers, or executives at the reviewed company. Reviews assess organizational conduct, not individual people.
No legal conclusions
Your review does not assert that the company's conduct was illegal, fraudulent, criminal, or in breach of contract. You may describe what happened; you may not characterize it as a legal violation.
One review per company
You will submit only one review per company. Submitting multiple reviews for the same company, or coordinating with others to submit reviews, is a violation of these Terms and will result in permanent removal from the platform.
Content license
By submitting a review, you grant Legit a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, display, and aggregate your review content on the platform. You retain ownership of your review. Legit will not sell your review content to the reviewed company or any third party.
3. Anonymity guarantee
Legit's core commitment to reviewers is structural anonymity. This is not a policy preference — it is built into how the platform operates.
What Legit guarantees
The company being reviewed will never receive any information that identifies who submitted a review — not their name, employer, email domain, LinkedIn profile, or any document they submitted for verification. This guarantee applies regardless of whether the company has claimed their profile, has an active subscription, has submitted a dispute, or has made any legal request to Legit. Reviewer identity will only be disclosed if Legit is compelled by a valid and enforceable court order, and Legit will use all reasonable means to resist such orders.
4. Data use
Legit collects the minimum data necessary to operate the platform.
What we collect from reviewers
Review content, scores, and any verification data you choose to submit (email domain, LinkedIn connection, or uploaded documents). We do not collect payment information from reviewers.
How we use it
Review content is used to calculate the Legit Score and displayed on company profiles. Verification data is used solely to assign the appropriate trust tier to the review — it is not shared with the reviewed company or any third party.
What we don't do
Legit does not sell reviewer data. Legit does not share individual reviewer verification data with reviewed companies. Legit does not use review content to train AI models for sale to third parties.
Retention
Reviews remain on the platform unless removed under the dispute process or at the reviewer's request. Reviewers may request removal of their review at any time by contacting hello@legit.works. Removal requests are processed within 30 days.
5. Prohibited conduct
The following are prohibited for all users of the platform:
Fake or coordinated reviews
Submitting reviews for companies you have not worked with; organizing campaigns to submit reviews for a company; submitting reviews in exchange for compensation or incentives of any kind.
Attempting to identify reviewers
Any attempt by a company, individual, or third party to identify the author of a review — through data aggregation, process of elimination, legal pressure, or any other means — is a violation of these Terms and may result in legal action.
Platform manipulation
Any attempt to manipulate the Legit Score through artificial means — including submitting false reviews, flooding a profile with low-quality unverified submissions, or coordinated rating campaigns — is prohibited and will result in permanent suspension.
Automated access
Scraping, crawling, or automated data collection from the Legit platform is prohibited without prior written authorization from Legit.
6. Disclaimers and limitations
The Legit Score and all review content are provided for informational purposes only. They represent the aggregated opinions of reviewers who have chosen to submit to the platform and do not constitute a statement of fact by Legit about any company's conduct, creditworthiness, legal compliance, or suitability as a business partner.
Legit makes no warranty that the information on the platform is accurate, complete, or current. Legit is not liable for any decisions made based on the Legit Score or review content. Readers are responsible for conducting their own due diligence.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legit's liability to any user for any claim arising out of use of the platform is limited to the fees paid by that user to Legit in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
7. Contact
Questions about these Terms, review removal requests, or policy concerns can be directed to hello@legit.works. Legit aims to respond to all policy inquiries within 5 business days.
